Children?s sporting outfit

(Prague, July 24, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspection Authority discovered that dangerous products are being sold on the Czech market. These products pose risks mainly to small children below 3 years of age.

It is a boy’s sweatshirt with hood - type KPSW 5872, manufactured in China and girl´s training suit - type GPTR 7090, manufactured in Pakistan.

Clothing for small children may not be designed and manufactured with tightening laces, hood laces or decorative laces around the hood or neck area. Also, it may not be manufactured with too long laces around the waist area. “As required by the applicable standards, children clothing equipped with these elements may not be sold, because they pose risk to children, as the laces may tighten up suddenly if stuck during regular activities or play", said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.

Due to the above-mentioned reasons, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority ordered the responsible seller to recall this product from the market, to stop introducing and selling these products and to stop all marketing services promoting the sale of the above-mentioned goods. Because these products were imported to the Czech Republic from Hungry, they will not be reported to the Rapex system.
