The shape of the lighter resembles mobile telephone. When you pull up the activation mechanism, the lighter lights up and when you push down on the lighter activation mechanism you will receive an electric shock, which causes muscle contraction, prickling feeling and skin burns.
This product poses burn hazard for small children. When used the user will receive an electric shock, therefore, if used by older persons with pacemakers there is a great danger of injuries or fire.
This lighter does not comply with the necessary safety requirements relevant to lighters introduced to markets. Unusually-shaped lighters are always considered dangerous and may not be sold on markets. Therefore, this product does not comply with applicable safety regulations as required by law. The user is not warned about the fact that he will receive an electric shock during use.
Due to the above-mentioned information, the CTIA banned this product or the series of these products from being introduced to market, as these products are considered dangerous, said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.
