Control at the River Town Marketplace and at the Tiskařská Marketplace

(Prague, October 21, 2010) On October 16, 2010, the Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection performed a control in cooperation with the members of the Police of the Czech republic, the Regional Directorate of Alien Police service, 2 extraordinary controls focused on infringements of intellectual property rights at the River Town Marketplace in Prague 7 and at the “Tiskařská” Marketplace in Prague 10.

In total 19 employees of the Czech Trade inspection and 10 members of the Police of the Czech Republic participated in the controls. Within 4 controls, 1,275 pieces of textile products, watches, leather fancy goods and keys lockets that were illegally labelled with trade-marks „Polo, Versace, Pepe jeans, Gant, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Diesel, Dolce&Gabbana, Armani, Chanel, Gucci, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Replay, Adidas, Roberto Cavalli, BENTLEY, Breitling, Rolex, Cartier, Roxy, Burton, DC, Quiksilver, Adio, a Louis Vuitton“.

Products infringing some intellectual property rights were stocked away from the controlled persons. The sale price of the originals would be CZK 4,372,300.

Within 3 controls at the “Tiskařská” Marketplace, the consumer was not informed about prices of sold products. Traders will be issued fines for these law infringements.
