CTIA at NATO Days in Ostrava
(Ostrava, September 29, 2011) Are you also interested in military, police or rescue technology, shows of special units training, air displays and different kinds of equipment used by units? All of this was available at the tenth year of the NATO Days in Ostrava on September 24 and 25. Not only exhibitions and displays, but also several tens of workplaces with refreshments and souvenirs were prepared for tens of thousands of visitors. Level of the provided services was examined by two inspectorates of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority seated in Ostrava and Brno. Inspectors carried out 15 controls and found defects in 8 cases (53.3%).
The NATO Days air show held at the Mošnovské Airport in Ostrava on September 24 and 25 was visited also by the inspectors of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority who examined the level of services provided within the accompanying stall sale of refreshments and souvenirs. Defects were found in 8 of 15 controlled workplaces (i.e. 53.3%).

In 4 cases, consumer was not informed about prices of offered products; 3 sellers used measuring tools of invalid certification. In one case after consumer’s demand, a seller did not hand over any bill of purchase with all legally defined information. Safety information in Czech was missing at products offered in one stall.

At the spot, inspectors imposed 6 fines in the amount of CZK 6,000 and banned use of 3 pieces of measuring tools until remedy. In 2 cases, the findings will be objects to administrative proceedings.
