CTIA supervised the Země Živitelka exhibition
(České Budějovice, September 7, 2011) The exhibition mall in České Budějovice annually hosts one of the major fairs focused on agricultural and food production. Within the last week of August, several hundreds of exhibitors and sellers of various products came here to offer agricultural machinery, novelties in forest and water management or food production; they also prepared presentation events of consumer goods, food products and refreshments. With regard to the exhibition’s significance and range, also inspectors of the Jihočeský and Vysočina CTIA Inspectorate are regular visitors of the fair. And this year they found breaches of obligations in 40% of controls.
Within this year’s controls of stall sale of consumer goods and refreshments, the CTIA inspectors checked how sellers observe provisions of the Act on Consumer Protection, Act on Technical Requirements for Products and Act on General Safety of Products. Within 45 controls, they found defects in 18 cases (40%).

10 sellers breached information obligations when selling consumer goods; in 6 cases, consumers were not informed about prices of goods or services at the moment of the offer. In the frame of actions taken, ban on sale of 24 types of goods was issued. The total number of products was 258 and their value was CZK 29,038. The inspectors imposed 1 fine at the spot in the amount of CZK 500 and imposed 17 orders at the spot in the total amount of CZK 17,000.
