E - commerce
(Prague, February 5, 2010) A control on e-shops was performed by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority in January 2010. The controls were focused on abidance with duties to inform consumers on their right to withdraw from the contract within the cooling off period and on other important information.
Particular inspectorates of the CTIA performed 44 controls in total. Defects were found in 25 cases, i.e. 56,8 %. The e-shopkeepers do not abide with their duties to inform their customers especially on the right to withdraw from the contract within the cooling off period and on product liability rights. Furthermore manuals were not in the Czech language. When solving consumers’ impulses the inspectors also found infringements of periods for settling consumers’ claims. A frequent case still is missing information on the e-shopkeeper.

In all cases in which defects were found the CTIA will start administrative procedures.
