Fakes were purchased at marketplaces, in boutiques and also online (Interim report of the second quarter of 2011)
(Prague, September 6, 2011) In the second quarter, controls of fakes were focused not only on traditional marketplaces, but also on boutiques and shopping malls in large cities. Offers of “branded” products in e-shops were also included. Within 654 controls, the CTIA inspectors found that 8 of each 10 checked persons breached one or more obligations defined by the Act on Consumer Protection and 50% of sellers were offering fakes of branded products. Totally 22,332 pieces of fakes were taken in the calculated originals’ price of 73.5 million CZK. In the second quarter, 315 fines were imposed in the total amount of more than 1 million CZK.
