The very most of the taken goods were textile products, audio and video discs and in lower numbers also shoes and watches. Most frequently, the products were marked with the trade-marks Jack Wolfskin, Bench, Ed Hardy and Adidas, Lacoste and Burton.
From the beginning, the control was focused on stalls rented to 14 concrete entrepreneurs with who administrative proceedings will be launched after professional assessment and confirmation that the products are fakes, i.e. products infringing some intellectual property rights. The administrative proceedings will concern breaches of the Act on Consumer Protection, specifically its provisions concerning use of unfair commercial practices. The CTIA inspectors proceeded with a control in 27 anonymous objects opened by the Police of the Czech Republic after previous agreement by the regional public prosecutor issued on the grounds of an order by a judge of the appropriate district court. The control proved that in most cases these spaces were used to stock forgeries that were then taken and subsequently stocked out of reach of the controlled persons until legitimate decision. In total, there were 38,000 pieces of fakes of at least 52 various trade-marks and illegal copies of music and film discs. Their estimated price calculated in the prices of originals would exceed 43 million CZK.
The control action in Aš was launched at 11 a.m. on September 8, 2011, and ended the following day at 6.30 a.m. when the taken goods was transported to a temporary stock in Aš. 25 inspectors and other employees of the Plzeňský and Karlovarský CTIA Inspectorate participated in the control action.
