(Prague, February 21, 2011) In January 2011, the Czech Trade Inspection performed another regular control of fuel quality. Out of the total number of 134 samples collected in January 2011, 6 samples did not meet quality standards’ requirements, i.e. 4.5%.

CONTROL’S OBJECTIVE:

In January defects were found in the samples of motor oil, Ethanol E85 and fatty acids methyl esters (FAME).

Out of the tested 59 motor oil samples, 3 samples did not meet requirements (5.1%). In 2 samples, deviation was detected in the flash point. In 1 sample (1.7%), defect in the sulphur content was detected.

Out of 3 collected FAME samples, 2 samples (66.7%) did not meet the quality standards requirements due to defects in the flash point.

One sample of 3 collected Ethanol E85 samples (33.3%) did not meet the requirement concerning the vapour pressure quality parameter.

Results according to the types of fuels, including detected unsatisfactory criteria, are available in the attachment No 1; the attachment No 2 contains values of unsatisfactory quality indicators and in the attachment No 3 is the overview of unsatisfactory samples with the date of collection, the No of the particular sample and marked unsatisfactory quality parameters.

In January, any violation of the upper acceptable level of bio ingredients in fuels was not detected.

Analysis of the collected samples showed deviations from the quality standards in 3 samples of motor oil, 2 samples of FAME and 1 sample of Ethanol E85. In January, 4.5% samples were unsatisfactory.

48 samples of the collected motor petrol did not meet the particular quality standard requirements the same as 4 samples of mixed fuel SMN 30, 15 samples of LPG and 2 samples of compressed natural gas (CNG).
