All the CTIA inspectorates performed 57 controls in total. Deficiencies were detected in 44 cases, i.e. 77,2 %. (Since the beginning of the year there were controlled 101 subjects selling goods via internet; infringements of the Consumer Protection Act were found 69 times, i.e. 68,3 %).

The most frequent violation was no provision of information to the consumer, especially on his or her rights to withdraw from the contract and related to product liability rights. Manuals of the sent products were not available in the Czech language and cases were also discovered of infringements of periods for settling consumers’ claims. Still often information on the e-shop-keeper is missing. There were also cases when prices were published without VAT and the promoted discounts on particular types of products did not comply with the real offers.

With the aim to check abiding the mentioned business conditions, goods was ordered in chosen e-shops and after its delivery the whole package was controlled to see if all requested information is provided and then the parcel was returned so that the inspectors could check how applicable conditions for returning of goods in the period of 14 days are fulfilled.

In one case shoes were delivered with quality defects on which the trader did not point at before the purchase. To be concrete, on one textile shoe there was a coloured spot, the sewing was too tight and it deformed the inner part of the shoe and in addition, each of the shoes was of different size. The delivered pair was not marked with information on materials composition of the main parts.

For discovered deficiencies in February, 12 sanctions were issued in the total amount of 19.000 CZK. 30 cases will be handled in administrative proceedings. Two findings are still being processed.
