Šenovská burza - breaches of obligations in each control
(Olomouc, June 21, 2011) It has been long time since CTIA inspectors found defects in all controlled persons! On June 19, 2011, at the Šenovská Burza marketplace in Ostrava the defects were sale of toys filed as dangerous in the RAPEX System, sale of fakes, products without manuals in Czech and without information about risks resulting from incorrect use. Missing prices and using measuring tools with invalid certification belonged among less serious breaches of obligations. When inspectors started the control action together with members of Alien Police, they did not guess that all 22 controlled commercial subjects would fail.

Defects found:
- In sale offer, 2 types of dangerous toys filed in the alert system RAPEX were found (in 1 seller)
- Offering, selling and stocking fakes of Louis Vitton Malletier – 2 types of handbags (1 case)
- Missing information about prices of products in sale offer (12 findings)
- Bill of purchase with all defined information was not given out after consumer’s request (3 sellers)
- Sale of aerosol products with missing consumer information in Czech on dangers resulting from incorrect use and on ways of liquidation (1 finding)
- Failure to provide correct information in Czech about features of products sold (1 case)
- Use of uncertified measuring tool to weigh and measure purchase of control (3 findings)

Action taken:
Dangerous toys in the total price of CZK 2,850 were liquidated by a seller at the spot. Ban on further sale of goods in the total price of CZK 3,080 was issued until remedy. The value of taken fakes when considering originals’ price was calculated to almost 1.5 million CZK. Ban on use of 3 pieces of uncertified measuring tools was issued. 

For detected infringements inspectors imposed totally 18 fines at the spot in the total amount of CZK 21,000. In 4 cases, detected infringements will be grounds to administrative proceedings. 

Results of the control carried out by members of Alien Police were more positive. They found no defects when checking 36 foreigners concerning permission to stay on the territory of the Czech Republic according to the Act on Residence of Alliens in the Territory of the Czech Republic and checking validity and authenticity of their identity papers.
