The new CTI directive took legal effect on January 1,
A corruption is mainly represented by bribery, extortion, blackmailing and racketeering. The anticorruption program of the Czech trade inspection is a set of anticorruption regulations, published in order to minimize or decrease corruption opportunities, as well as relevant labour and criminal activities of employees. In order to achieve such goal, it is necessary to make sure that the applicable and responsible employees of the CTI use unified procedures during processing of each individual claim, filed within the agenda of the anticorruption programme.
CTI directive No. 47/2007 describes uniform procedures that shall be applied during the processing of filed claims, notifications, questions, complains and petitions. An anticorruption hotline of the CTI has been established during the first phase of the anticorruption program. This hotline has been design for inspected persons, who may meet with or discover illegal activities of an inspector during the applicable inspection process. At the same time, this hotline may be used by the inspectors, who may discover illegal activities of their colleagues.
To communicate illegal activities you may use mail address fairplay@coi.cz, which is available 24 hours a day or you may call telephone number 800 870 890 during working hours of the CTI.
This anticorruption program focuses on the inspection of processes already established within the organizational structure of an office/authority and on the application of following changes in order to eliminate corruption risks as much as possible. An independent status and participation of company ABL, a.s, throughout the entire program, is viewed as an advantage, offering higher inspection efficiency and better transparency of the entire process for citizens. An important fact of this program is the interconnection of an independent organization with a state institution, offering higher efficiency of investigations and claim processing received from the anticorruption hotline. In this way, reports coming in can be verified and trusted and necessary evidence for civil and criminal investigation can be used, as well as applicable corrective measures may be applied to eliminate future corruption activities.
