Light chain, model 100 MICROLAMPADAS MULTIFUNCONES, TYPE 100 L-4WCC

The CTI has banned the sale of this light chain, as it poses serious danger of injury by electrical shock.

(Prague, March 25, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspectorate found out about a dangerous product sold on the Czech market, which poses risk of injuries by electric shock and risk of fire.

It is an open light chain, model 100 MICROLAMPADAS MULTIFUNCONES, TYPE 100 L-4WCC, with light emitting diodes. 

The attached manual does not contain instructions in Czech language. The product is originally from China.

 

The above-mentioned product has several constructional deficiencies - insufficient size of cross-section of inner wires and power cable, insufficient length of power cable, wires have only basic insulation, plug fork P2 does not have safety contact and dimensions are not within required limits and live parts of the fork plug are accessible when inserting into power outlet.Further, during the performed pull-test, the one-lead cable separated from the light source. The light chain does not have a warning label saying “Danger of injury by electrical shock”.

 

The CTI forbade this product from sale and issued applicable measures prohibiting this product from being introduced to the market. Further, the CTI issued a ban ordering this product to be recalled from the market and ordered the applicable body to inform customers immediately about the existing danger.
