(Prague, June 11, 2009) the Czech Trade Inspectorate discovered that dangerous consumer products are being sold on the Czech market. These products represent a serious danger, because they can be easily confused with food.

These products are: Set of fruit candles SW/5, EAN: 8590697480060 and set of fruit candles SW/8, EAN: 8590697480053. This product, thanks to its shape, size, colour and smell may be easily confused with food. The evaluation revealed that small children may separate small pieces from the candle, which can fit inside the testing cylinder and therefore, these small pieces will also fit inside a child´s mouth. “Consuming such dangerous products, mainly by persons with low ability to differentiate between real food and products that looks like food (mainly small children), may create health or other problems. Also, a danger of inhaling small pieces is present", said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General director of the Czech Trade Inspectorate.

The CTI prohibited sale of the above-mention products and the distributor accepted applicable measures and recalled these products from the market.
