Children's bicycle Cat Rabbit Yeah

(Prague, April 15, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspectorate discovered that a dangerous consumer product is being sold on the Czech market. This product represents a serious danger, mainly to small children.

It is a children's bicycle Cat Rabbit Yeah, which does not comply with children safety requirements. The front and the rear brakes cannot be placed in an efficient breaking position, without the use of tools. The inner part of the driving chain gear is not sufficiently covered. The expanded end rims on the handlebar do not have the required length (minimum of 40 mm). Measured length is only 32 mm. The seat rod does not have a minimum insert level marked on it and it does not have permanent stopper, which would prevent the seat from being pulled out of the frame above the allowed length.

The product does not have any user´s manual. The bicycle frame is missing a visible and sturdy label, specifying the manufacturer name or the applicable distributor or standard/code.

It is very likely that when riding this bicycle, clothing, shoe laces or fingers may get caught in the chain, because the chain is not properly covered. Also, insufficient rims on the ends of the handlebar make cause hands of the rider to slip. This may also cause fall of the user. Therefore, this product represents a real danger during common use.

The CTI prohibited sale of the above-mention product and the distributor accepted applicable measures and recalled this product from the market.
