It is a children’s bicycle Keller Lexar 12" CH -39-801 CA 1210, which does not comply with applicable safety requirements. The bicycle chain and the chain gear are fully covered on the outer side but not on the inside (the requirement specifies that the chain cover must cover the entire outer side of the chain, chain gear and the rear chain gear, the inner side of the gears and chain, as well as parts where the chain comes into contact with gears).
It is very likely that when riding this bicycle, clothing, shoe laces or fingers may get caught in the chain, because the chain is not properly covered. This may also cause fall of the riding user (danger of various bodily injuries). Therefore, this product represents a real danger during common use.
“The CTI prohibited sale of the above-mention product and the distributor accepted applicable measures and recalled this product from the market,“ said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General director of the Czech Trade Inspectorate.
