Plastic toys shaped as airplanes, boats and cars do not comply with basic safety regulations as specified by Rule No. 2, Government directive No. 19/2003 Coll., describing toy technical requirements. The toy construction enables the child to easily detach individual parts. Detached parts may be swallowed or inhaled by playing children, which represents danger of suffocation.
Products do not comply with requirements of ČSN EN 71-1, article 5.1, letter a) and article 7.1. Products do not comply with basic requirements, as described in ČSN EN 71–1 + A4 Toy safety - Part 1: the Mechanical and physical properties, article 5.1 letter a) and article 7.1. Therefore, requirements specified in Rule No 2, Item 3), Government directive No. 19/2003 Coll., describing technical requirements for toys, in connection with article No. 2), Directive of the Board No. 88/378/EHS were not complied with.
Danger:
The construction and design allow small parts to be detached. These parts were easily placed inside the testing cylinder as specified by ČSN EN 71 – 1 + A4, article 5.1 and 8.2., which means that these parts may be inhaled or swallowed by small children.
Products do not have any warning labels, do not bare the name of the importer, supplier or manufacturer and do not have the CE symbol, which would mean that these product comply with the applicable declaration of conformity and with basic safety regulations of the Directive No. 88/378/EHS.
Applied measures:
The CTI banned these products from sale. After the evaluation process is over, the importer will be ordered to apply appropriate corrective measures.
