EVALUATION:
Tests results revealed that the above-mentioned product does not comply with articles No. 4.15.5.3, 4.15.2.7 ČSN EN 71-1+A 4:2007, Toy safety regulations – Part 1: the Mechanical and physical properties.
DISCOVERED DEFECTS:
The handlebar rod does not provide sufficient rigidity and strength and may bend during driving, therefore causing a fall of the riding child. The probability of serious injuries occurring during regular use is very high.
Handlebar ends are too small in diameter and therefore, the handlebar does not comply with the requirements of the applicable norm. The child’s hand may slip out of the handlebar while riding.
Other deficiencies discovered by risk analysis, article No. 4.15.5.2 – This scooter does not have a label specifying a weight category, does not have necessary user’s manual, neither it has a list of applicable warnings, which must be observed.
This product does not comply with basic regulations, which needs to be followed when introducing product to markets, as specified by Rule No. 2, Item 1, NV No. 19/2003 Coll., describing toy technical requirements in connection with Rule No. 13, law No. 22/1997 Coll., describing product technical requirements, as amended.
APPLIED MEASURES:
The CTI prohibited this product from sale, pursuant to Rule No 7, Item 1, letter a), Rule No. 64/1986 Coll., the Czech Trade Inspectorate law, as amended. Further, corrective measures in accordance with Rule No. 7, Item 1, letter b) and c) of this law shall be applied.
