Control on production, import and sale of windows and outer doors
(Prague, August 18, 2010) In the second trimester of 2010, the Czech Trade Inspection performed a control activity in the field of construction products. The objective was to check whether controlled products meet requirements for being introduced to the market.

During the time period from April to June 2010, in total 43 controls were performed at 37 producers and 6 distributors. The subjects to control were construction products – windows and outer entrance doors. Deficiencies were detected in 22 cases which stand for 51%. The deficiencies were: not implementing the adjudging of conformity in the required measure, not issuing the EC declaration on conformity and not labelling products with the CE mark as provided by law.

On the grounds of the detected deficiencies 10 cases are subjects to administrative procedures; in 4 cases fines were issued in the total amount of 17,000 CZK at the inspection location and in 9 cases interim measures were issued.

“With regard to the high percentage of deficiencies detected by the inspectors, the control activity is going to continue,” said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the Director General of the Czech Trade Inspection.
