It is a children´s bicycle Superior Bubble Alu 12“ 6061 serial number 70900299, which does not comply with basic safety requirements.
The bicycle chain and the chain gear are fully covered on the outer side but not on the inside (the requirement specifies that the chain cover must cover the entire outer side of the chain, chain gear and the rear chain gear, the inner side of the gears and chain, as well as parts where the chain comes into contact with gears).
An opening for the front shoe tip – measured from the pedal axis to the surface of the front tire (or rather the mudguard) must be 89 mm at least.
It is very likely that the rider shoes will be hitting the front wheel (or the mudguard) during the ride, as the measured distance is too small. This may cause the rider to fall (danger of bodily injuries). It is also very likely that when riding this bicycle, clothing, shoe laces or fingers may get caught by the chain, because the chain is not properly covered. This may also cause the rider to fall.
Therefore, this product represents a real danger during common use.
“The CTI prohibited sale of the above-mention product and the distributor accepted applicable measures and recalled this product from the market,“ said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General director of the Czech Trade Inspectorate.
