One third of controlled shops and marketplaces offer fakes (continuous report of first trimester 2011)
(Prague, May 25, 2011) During the first trimester 2011, 412 CTIA controls were focused on respecting the ban on using unfair commercial practices through offering or selling goods or services infringing some intellectual property rights and stocking such products. Inspectors found infringements of generally binding legislation in 316 cases (76.7%) out of which using unfair commercial practices was proven in 145 cases (i.e. 35.2%). 6,652 pieces of fakes in the originals’ value of more than 20 million CZK were taken – almost one third of them was found by officers of the Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate of the CTIA.
