The Czech Trade Inspectorate tries to do anything in its power to make sure that companies violating the applicable law can correct and amend their activities. The Czech Trade Inspectorate informs consumers about dangerous and risky products and activities, which may harm the user health or cause damages to the user property. However, information relevant to businessmen, who were penalized, does not posses predicative abilities.
The time from the beginning of illegal activities until the applicable corrective resolution is issued, represents approximately one year. As required by law, the applicable legal proceedings are not public. The Czech Trade Inspectorate is the only body, which proceeds in this way. During this time, the penalized company may change its owner and correct its mistakes. At the moment of publishing the company name, this information would be relevant and the company may suffer damages.
Therefore, we reject criticism of Mrs. Picková (SOS). Mrs Picková stopped publishing name of companies, which are regarded as unreliable according to SOS, on several occasions. The Czech Trade Inspectorate is responsible for preventing illegal activities of businesses from happening and publishing unclear information would not help. The Czech Trade Inspectorate fully utilizes its options to issue penalties for illegal activities, which are legally available and prescribed by applicable law.
We are not authorized to change or alter laws according to the mood of the media or some organizations. The Czech Trade Inspectorate offers advisory services for consumers for free. Artificial creation of problems relevant to information sharing and publishing of penalized persons shall be determined by the applicable court of law and also by applicable law, which will affect not only the Czech Trade Inspectorate, but also the hygienic and food organizations, as well as other state governed bodies, which participate in the decision making process relevant to legal proceedings.
