Recording plush teddy bear "MIKRO"

(Prague, October 2009), the Czech Trade Inspection Authority discovered that a dangerous product is being sold on Czech market. This product poses danger mainly to small children.

It is a recording plush teddy bear MIKRO“ GU 3164,  94033, powered by three AA batteries. Product is marked with the CE symbol. The country of origin is China.

 

The batteries in this toy may be accessed via zipper and thanks to the low quality of seams located under the zipper, the soft stuffing material (polyester) may be accessed as well. The battery compartment may be accessed without the need to use any tools. The batteries are placed in an open compartment. Therefore, this product poses swallowing, inhalation and suffocation hazard due to the easily accessible stuffing material and batteries.

 

The CTIA banned this product from sale and from being further introduced to the market. Also the CTIA ordered sellers to recall this product from the market and ordered them to immediately inform consumers about the existing danger.
