Out of the total number of 118 controlled subjects, defects were found only in three cases. In these cases, information on the marking of the lanterns was provided only in a foreign language. All the checked subjects were issued remedy.
Conclusion:
Despite the fact that the CTIA did not find any facts that could lead to restrict sale of these products, operative controls in the frame of the CTIA surveillance activities will continue. The reason for this is the fact that by the public, Thai lanterns are perceived as dangerous. This danger, the same as in the case of pyrotechnic products, stems above all from incorrect use, respectively failures to respect safe use instructions.
