Sweatshirts

(Prague, June 18, 2009) the Czech Trade Inspectorate discovered that a dangerous consumer product is being sold on the Czech market. This product represents a serious danger for children of up to 7 years of age.

These products are:

Striped sweatshirt with hood – type KONRAD

Grey sweatshirt with white flowers design – type SYLIA

Spring jacket with hood - type GIZA

All products are originally from Poland

Small children clothing may not be designed, manufactured and supplied with tightening lines or with decorative lines sewn into the hood or around the neck area. In accordance with ČSN EN 14682, sale of clothing equipped with these elements is prohibited.

“These tightening ropes and lines pose danger to children. If the rope gets caught or stuck during a play on children playgrounds, slides or other attractions, it may tighten up suddenly and cause suffocation or injuries”, said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General director of the Czech Trade Inspectorate.

Due to the above-mentioned reasons, the CTI prohibited the seller from offering, selling and introducing these products to the markets.
