The CTI discovered a dangerous children´s pyramid on the Czech market.

(Prague, April 9, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspectorates found a dangerous product, which has been included into the international warning system RAPEX.

It is a children's pyramid NINA, notification No:0044/09. Hračka je vyrobena z tvrzeného plastu, skládá se z 12 variabilních kruhových různobarevných částí ve tvaru šál100 0044/09. The toy is manufactured from hardened plastic and consists of 12 variable round parts (cups) in various colours.

These cups bear labels with numbers and each number corresponds with the order of each cup in the pyramid packaging.

The manufacturer is „NINA“ Sp.Z O.O.

 

Parts of the pyramid do not comply with children safety requirements, because children may insert them into mouth if they try to drink from it. These parts may also cover nose and mouth and prevent air from entering air passages.A child may suffocate during regular use of the toy.This product represents a serious danger for small children.

 

The CTI forbade this product from sale and issued applicable measures prohibiting this product from being introduced to the market. Further, the CTI issued a ban ordering this product to be recalled from the market and established responsibility to inform consumers about the relevant danger immediately.At the same time, these findings were forwarded to the applicable inspectorate for further investigation, which will be performed at the supplier location.
