The CTI discovered dangerous bicycle on the Czech Market.

(Prague, April 22, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspectorate discovered that a dangerous consumer product is being sold on the Czech market. This product represents a serious danger for small children.

It is a children bicycle 12“ BRAVE TN, EAN: 4546 132 417 6403, manufactured in China.

It is very likely that when riding this bicycle, clothing, shoe laces or fingers may get caught in the chain, because the chain is not properly covered. This may also cause fall of the rider.

An unsatisfactory gap between the front wheel and the front bicycle fork may cause finger injuries or may even cut fingers off. The front bicycle fork has a mount fastened on it (most probably headlight mount) that has too sharp edges. Therefore, this product represents a danger during common use.

“The CTI prohibited sale of the above-mention product and the distributor accepted applicable measures and recalled this product from the market,“ said RNDr. Jana Příhodová, the General director of the Czech Trade Inspectorate.
