(Prague, April 6, 2009), the Czech Trade Inspectorate discovered that a dangerous consumer product is being sold on the Czech market. This product does not comply with the necessary requirements, as specified in the applicable product category.
It is a two-litter container of distilled water, used for technical purposes. Date of manufacture December 18, 2008.
This product does not comply with the necessary conductivity testing requirements. The tested sample achieved conductivity results of 34,7 mS/m, which is the conductivity of regular drinking water. The maximum allowed value, as specified by ČSN ISO 3696 is 0,5 mS/m.
This product is specified as distilled water for technical purposes. It is not possible to determine whether this distilled water, with such high levels of conductivity, will have a negative influence on products where it will be used.
