(Prague March 1, 2009) the Czech Trade Inspectorate performed inspection activities throughout the entire Czech Republic focusing on extension cords and movable cords.  The main purpose was to inspect manufacturers and importers of these products, to find out about supply channels and to eliminate dangerous product from circulation.

These inspections were performed on 53 units. 5 units had some kind of defects. The inspection covered 121 types of products and discovered 12 defective products.

The CTI banned 10 product types from being sold until the applicable defects are removed. These were represented by 12 types of products in the total value of CZK 29,000,-. By prohibiting these products from sale, the free circulation of defective goods was eliminated.
