Testing results performed at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, by the furniture testing laboratory, Lesnická 39, Brno.

According to testing protocol No. 15/08, the product does not comply with the ENV 581-2 standard, article 6.2.2.3 , describing seat impact test procedure. After second testing cycle, a permanent deformation in the elbow of the leg occurred, as well as in the mount of the seat. The tested product does not comply with requirements of the applicable norm/standard.

Conclusion: The tested product does not comply with requirements included in the  ENV 581-2 standard, article 6.2.2.3 , describing seat impact test procedure.

This product does not comply with requirements of the applicable impact standards and has unsatisfactory user´s manual.

1. The impact testing simulates a sudden impact that may happen when a person quickly sits on the chair. During the test, a 50 kg test bag was dropped on the seat from the height of 100 mm in 10 repeated cycles, to simulate the required load conditions. The second cycle already caused permanent damage to the seat mounts and mostly to the leg elbow, resulting in an immediate instability of the chair. The test was terminated after that.

The supporting frame is manufactured from a thin wall tube with wall thickens of 1 mm. Deformation and damage that occurred during the testing caused sharp decrease in the load supporting properties of the chair. The damaged occurred in the tube elbow (bend), as bend lowers the strength of the tube.

This product is potentially dangerous as it may cause fall of the user, if the user sit on the chair quickly. The chair may loose its stability, causing the user to fall. The product does not comply with article 6.2. 6.2, Item 2, of the ČSN 91 0100 Furniture Safety requirements and article No. 8, Item 3, ČSN 91 3001 Furniture for outdoor use. 2. The user´s manual does not contain instructions explaining how to extend handles so they may be used safely and how to fold them back. This may cause incorrect handling by the user, damages to the product or injuries. The enclosed user´s manual is incomplete, as it does not contain instructions on how to assemble to product so it may be safely used.
