The subject of the inspection were air reservoirs and air compressor units, which belong to the applicable category, as described by the Government directive No. 20/2003 Coll., as amended, which describes technical requirements for simple pressure containers and units and in accordance with Government directive No. 26/2003 Coll., as amended, describing technical requirements for pressurized products. The purpose of this inspection was to determine, whether this group of products sold on domestic markets, complies with the above-mentioned government directives.

The inspection has been divided into three phases. The first phase focused on distributor inspections. In total, 51 commercial subjects and entities including 69 air compressors with reservoirs were inspected. The second phase focused on air reservoir manufacturers. 22 products were tested during this phase.  The last, third phase focused on air compressor manufacturers. 4 air compressor manufacturers and 10 products were inspected.

The result of these inspection activities revealed that the situation and status on the market in regards to the air pressure products (air reservoirs and compressors) is satisfactory and that necessary requirements are observed. Discovered small shortcomings have not been qualified as dangerous and therefore corrective measures (if any) did not limit the sale of these products and were mostly administrative (information had been filled in or added in the applicable documentation). However, in two cases, the issued corrective measures penalized the manufacturer, because the presented documentation did not include the applicable and required government directives.
