The Czech Trade Inspectorate performed inspections during the 2009 World Skiing Championship

Inspectors of the CTI performed planned inspection activities in connection with the 2009 World Skiing Championship, which took place between February 17, 2009 and March 1, 2009 in Liberec.

(Prague, March 6, 2009), Inspectors of the CTI performed planned inspection activities in connection with the 2009 World Skiing Championship, which took place between February 17, 2009 and March 1, 2009 in Liberec.

Inspection activities of the CTI were performed throughout the duration of the entire Championship. Sixteen CTI inspectors in cooperation with four inspectors from Inspekcje Handlowej, Poland, were focusing on food-serving establishments, on establishments providing temporary accommodation services and on the quality of taxi services.

 

A total of 133 inspections were performed. In 32 cases, the CTI issued immediate penalties, mostly due to insignificant violations. Legal proceedings will begin against four business entities.

 

The most frequent violation discovered by the CTI inspectors, was the use of incorrect, or not tested, or incorrectly tested measuring instruments and providing incorrect drink prices and low drink volumes to consumers.

                 

Discrimination relevant to double pricing policies or racial discrimination violations were not discovered throughout the entire duration of inspection activities. Also, unfair or dishonest business practice was not discovered throughout the entire duration of the 2009 World Skiing Championship in Liberec.

 

As a conclusion, we may state that throughout the entire duration of the World Championship in Liberec, the CTI did not discover and a serious or alarming violations.
