The CTIA inspectors of Ústí nad Labem focused on stall sale of refreshments at traditional spring events Tržnice Zahrady Čech, Můj dům-můj hrad and Tempo. Within controls of 15 stalls they were interested above all in the way consumers are informed about prices of products and services sold, whether declared amounts of drinks are provided, whether certified weighs are used and whether bills on product purchase are given out for possible future claims after consumers’ demand. The CTIA did not find any infringements of the Act on Consumer Protection except for one case when a weigh used in a refreshment stall had no certification. This breach was resolved by a fine imposed at the spot.
We consider this a very positive finding in comparison with the same period of 2010 when infringements of obligations defined by the Act on Consumer Protection was detected in more than a half of the controls (55%) and when inspectors imposed 4 fines at the spot and one fine in administrative proceedings. Further controls will show whether this significant improvement would persist. The controls will be held throughout the year, especially at the most visited autumn fair Zahrada Čech.
