Control on fakes - Prague 9

(Prague, April 9, 2010) The Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection performed a control on March 26, 2010, a control focused on selling, offering and stocking of goods infringing some intellectual property rights, i.e. forgeries, on the territory of Prague 9.

Six inspectors of the Czech Trade Inspection performed the control in cooperation with members of the Police of the Czech Republic. In total 18.720 pieces of forgeries were distressed in the total price of 5.616.000 CZK, concerning the price of the originals. Confiscated were products marked with the trade-mark Kappa.

For identifying the controlled persons and processing expertises confirming fakes distress of the world trade-mark administrative proceedings will begin with these controlled persons. Within these proceedings will be decided about the sanctions to be issued, forfeiture of the goods and its following liquidation or it handing over for humanitarian purposes.
