Controls of workplaces and stalls at railway and bus stations
(Olomouc, May 30, 2011) Workers of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority regularly control bistros, grocery shops, general merchandise shops, stalls with refreshments, souvenirs, textile and other assortment in departure lounges, at platforms and in the closest surroundings of railway and bus stations. These were objects to control in Moravskoslezský and Olomoucký Regions since May 17 to 19, 2011. Inspectors checked 37 workplaces in total and found infringements in 18 sellers, i.e. 48.6%.
Infringements found:
- Sellers did not provide information about products in Czech language and did not mark products with defined data (2 findings)
- Sellers did not give out any bill on product purchase with all defined belongings after consumer’s demand (3 cases)
- Sale of separate cigarettes from an open unitary packaging (2 findings)
- Weighs with invalid certification was used to weigh purchase of control (11 sellers)
-Missing information about price and amount of poured drinks (2 cases)
- One seller did not provide declared amount of a drink

Actions taken:
- Sale of 152 pieces of products in the total price of CZK 10,305 was banned until remedy; marking of the products did not meet requirements of special legislation
- Ban on using of 11 pieces of measuring tools without certification was issued until remedy
- 13 fines in the total amount of CZK 15,500 were imposed at the spot
- Detected deficiencies are objects to administrative proceedings with other 5 sellers
