CTI banned sale of nonconforming motor oil

(Prague, February 28, 2011) An extraordinary CTI control with a mobile laboratory was performed on February 26, 2011, based on the information that poor quality motor oil is sold at the fuel station near the ski resort in Mnichovice. After taking of the fuel for the purpose of control at the filling station JTC Mnichovice, the procedure was performed in cooperation with the employees of the mobile laboratory.

Compete results of the laboratory analysis were handed in to the CTI inspectors in late evening hours. The measured value of flash point was only 30,5°C, while the specification value when considering the measurement’s uncertainty according to the standard ČSN EN ISO 4269 is minimally 53,0°C. On the grounds of the results it was decided that the following day the controlled subject will be familiarized with the test’s result and if a new supply is not realized, the CTI inspectors would ban the sale of the nonconforming motor oil.

The ban on the motor oil sale was imposed by the inspectors on February 27, 2011, in the presence of Ing. Ivan Kruliš, the Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate’s Director. The both delivery nozzles were sealed with the CTI binder until remedy.
