Inspectors above all checked whether products are offered that could threaten safety and health of children due to their unsuitable mechanical and physical features, bad construction, insufficient or incorrect warning and other information required to fulfil basic safety requirements. All inspectorates of the CTIA are involved in the control activity which will be held during the whole year.

- Fine at the spot in the amount of CZK 1,000 for failure to information obligations in compliance with the Act on Consumer Protection (section 9 par. 1 of the Act No. 634/1992 Coll.)
- Administrative proceedings with two checked subjects
- 1 baby-coach sample taken to assess safety due to suspicion that the product fails requirements of the Act on General Safety of Products (Act No. 102/2001 Coll.)

Despite relatively low number of findings, the CTIA will pay attention to controls of baby-coaches as these are products designed for the smallest children who can get hurt easily. “We will inform consumers about the result of the laboratory assessment of the collected baby-coach sample in case it proves that it is a dangerous product,” said ing.
