(Prague, June 20, 2011) From May 2 to May 20, an extraordinary control action of the CTIA focused on offering and selling shoes. Inspectors aimed at all types of standard sale of shoes in the market of the Czech Republic. Within 207 controls they found breaches of generally binding legislation in 100 cases, i.e. 48.31% of the total number of controls carried out. Bans on 5,718 pieces of products – shoes and other checked assortment – were issued and 73 fines in the total amount of CZK 88,100 were imposed at the spot. In other cases, administrative proceedings are processed with controlled persons.
