Fakes in the price millions were taken from marketeers in Hatě
(Brno, August 17, 2011) Sources of fakes at the marketplace in Hatě are illimitable. Despite repeated controls carried out by various institutions and takings of huge numbers of fakes of all kinds, stall operators still supply their business with new products infringing some intellectual property rights. Inspectors of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority witnessed it again on Monday August 15, 2011, within their control held in cooperation with Alien Police. Within the control action at the Hatě marketplace on the Czech-Austrian border crossing, 2,942 pieces of clothes, shoes and fancy goods in the estimated originals’ price of almost CZK 12 million were taken.
This control action carried out by the Jihomoravský and Zlínský Inspectorate was focused on selling, offering and stocking of goods infringing some intellectual property rights. Inspectors checked 37 sellers on Monday August 15, 2011, and took 2,942 pieces of fakes of clothes, shoes and fancy goods illegally marked with various trademarks. The estimated price of originals would reach CZK 11,579,600. 34 inspectors of the Jihomoravský, Zlínský and Středočeský and Prague Inspectorates and 34 members of Alien Police participated in the control action.

After the controlled persons were identified and after expert opinions confirmed that the products are fakes, administrative proceedings were launched concerning imposing of fines, seizing of goods and its further liquidation or handing in to humanitarian purposes.
