Inspection event TAXISERVICE January 2010
(Prague, February 15, 2010) Czech Trade Inspectoration Authority in January 2010 performed control on taxi cabs tendering services in the Czech Republic.

In January 26 controls of taxi cabs were performed in total on the Czech Republic territory. Out of these 2 checks were performed in late evening or night hours in the cooperation with Metropolitan Police. Infringements were found in 13 cases in total, i.e. in 50 % of the performed controls.

The most frequent infringements were: service providers did not inform the customer about the offered services prices in conformity with the pricing regulations; the price list of the services tendered was not complete and the information on the provided service was missing or the information was not complete. Furthermore an unfair commercial practice was found when information on a tendered “waiting” service was not provided and on in what cases the service is charged. In 3 cases infringements of Act on road transportation were found and they were transferred to the competent traffic office which will act according to its competence.

The overview of individual findings in particular regions of the Czech Republic is to be found in attached tables.

“The tracking period brought 5 fines in total amount of 9.000 CZK. In six cases the controlled persons will be subjects to administrative procedures and three cases will be transferred to competent traffic offices,” said Jana Příhodová, the director general of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.
