Inspection on sell of white gold jewellery
(Prague, February 3, 2010) The Jihočeský and Vysočina Inspectorates (further referred to as CTIA) performed inspections focused primarily on observance of fair commercial practices in the sell of white gold jewellery. The CTIA cooperated with the Assay Office.
The cooperation brought 2 controls in which 31 pieces of jewellery were taken away to special tests in assaying laboratories. Out of the 31 pieces there were 7 that did not pass the checks in the labs. Unsatisfactory jewels were not made of white gold alloy, but of a coloured alloy (yellow, red, pink) which was only plated with white gold. In one of the premises the inspectors also found missing price tags at some of the products.

In both cases of the premises, the CTIA will continue its work within its enforcement competencies.
