Object and subjects to control:
In July, fuel quality was monitored in compliance with the Act on Fuels (according to the statute of the section 7 par. 2a of the Act No. 311/2006 Coll. and the Decree No. 133/2010 Coll.) at filling stations at the territory of the Czech Republic. Samples of motor petrol, motor oil, mixed fuel, bio fuel, LPG, CNG and Ethanol E85 were taken and their quality was examined.
Control’s results:
Control’s results:
Out of the total number of 171 samples taken and examined in July 2011, 6 samples (i.e. 3.5%) failed quality parameters. Defects were found in motor petrol, motor oil and mixed motor oil samples. Results according to fuel types are shown in the attachment that includes the detected nonconforming criteria.

Out of 74 examined motor petrol samples, 3 samples (4.1%) failed; all of them failed the quality parameter vapour pressure.
Out of 75 motor oil samples, 2 samples (2.7%) failed the quality parameters. One sample showed deviation in flash point and in another case, temperature of 95% of distilled content was higher than the technical standard’s requirement.
In July, 2 samples of mixed motor oil (SMN 30) were also taken and examined including one which failed the quality parameter flash point.
In July, violation of the upper acceptable level of bio ingredients in fuel was not detected in the examined samples. The average FAME content value in motor oil samples was in the range from 2.4% to maximally 7.2% of content. The average ethanol content was in the range from 3.9% to 4.8% of content in the examined motor petrol samples.
Conclusion:

Conclusion:
Analysis of the taken samples showed deviations from quality standards in 3 motor petrol samples, 2 motor oil samples and 1 mixed motor oil sample. In comparison with the previous month, in July the quality of motor petrol worsened from 3.4% to 4.1%. On the contrary, the number of nonconforming motor oil samples declined from 3.4% to 2.7%. The high proportion of nonconforming mixed fuel samples (50%) is caused by a low number of taken and examined fuel samples, i.e. 2 samples. The total quality of fuel samples taken and examined by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority worsened from 3.1% to 3.5% when comparing July with June 2011.
No deviations from quality standards were found in the taken and examined samples of LPG (15 samples), fatty acid methyl ester (FAME, 3 samples), compressed natural gas (CNG, 1 sample) and Ethanol E85 (1 samples).
Out of the total number of 171 taken and examined fuel samples, 21 samples were examined in a mobile laboratory. Sale of motor oil sample was banned until remedy at 1 filling station.
