Potštejnská pouť and Helicopter show under CTIA supervision

(Hradec Králové, May 26, 2011) Issues that one can see and experience at various events organized in many places all over the country appear in various news and reports. Services provided at these events are usually out of the media sight – various kinds of refreshments, stalls with gifts and other products offered to visitors. Inspectors of the CTIA focused their attention on these services at two events of the past weekend. At the Potštejnská pouť and the Helicopter show in Hradec Králové they checked whether laws are breached and consumers harmed within sale of products and provision of services. They checked 22 sellers and found deficiencies in 10 of them.

Potštejnská pouť - May 22, 2011:

Within 9 controls inspectors found deficiencies in 6 checked persons – in all cases obligation to inform about material content of textile products in the Czech language was breached. Controlled persons were banned to sell textile goods in the total value of CZK 96,508 until remedy and 6 fines were imposed at the spot in the total amount of CZK 5,000.

Helicopter Show - Hradec Králové, 21. květen 2011:

Inspectors checked 13 sellers in total and found defects in 4 workplaces. In 1 case, manuals and information on products were provided only in a foreign language; in 2 cases consumers had no possibility to check declared amounts of purchased drinks. Within another purchase of control, difference detrimental to consumer was detected and one seller did not give out any bill of purchase after consumer demand. Ban on sale was issued on products in the total value of CZK 3,490 until remedy. Due to infringements of the Act on Consumer Protection, administrative proceedings will be launched with the controlled subjects and it will be decided about the fines’ amount.
