(Prague, May 27, 2011) During the first trimester of the year, 1,474 workplaces of various types including internet shops were checked in the frame of a control action focused on offering and selling goods for discounted prices and within sales purchases. Abidance with the Act on Consumer Protection and other related laws supervised by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority was checked. Inspectors found infringements of obligations in 613 cases (i.e. 41.6%), issued bans on sale of 5,249 pieces of products in the total value of CZK 1,311,709 and imposed 406 fines in the total amount of CZK 1,551,200.
