Sellers in restaurants' front gardens still cheat consumers
(Brno, July 22, 2011) If you like to rest having an afternoon coffee in a restaurant front garden and you want to enjoy the peace and relax, do not forget to pay attention to what the servants brings you when it comes to both meals and drinks menu. Sitting in a front garden can otherwise change into an unpleasant experience. In past days, inspectors of the CTIA found out about it within almost two thirds of controls in Brno.
On Tuesday July 19, in the centre of Brno another of control actions focused on sale and provision of services at summer front gardens of restaurants. Within 13 of 22 controls (i.e. 59%), the CTIA inspectors detected breaches of obligations defined by the Act on Consumer Protection and the Act on Czech Trade Inspection.

Sellers did not provide declared amounts of drinks, did not provide information about the amount on consumer’s demand and did not inform consumers about prices of services offered.

In 7 cases, fine at the spot was imposed; 3 sellers were imposed fixed penalties and administrative proceedings will be launched with 3 entrepreneurs.
