(Final report of the project of 2013)
(Prague, April 15, 2014) Inspections of playgrounds and play elements are not carried out throughout the whole year, but in the months when they are used by children. Last year, due to cold weather the inspection action was launched on April 2 and lasted till the end of August. Defects were detected in 30 cases of the total of 119 inspections. CTIA inspectors inspected more than 350 installed play articles. The major aim of surveillance concerning equipment of playgrounds is to minimize risks of children’s injuries that are especially caused by bad construction of play elements, their incorrect installation, insufficient maintenance or long-term use.
