(Prague, November 18, 2016) On All Souls’ Day most of us remembered their relatives who are not here anymore. And most of us wanted to light a candle or lay a flower. Sellers of appropriate goods always use this opportunity of course, but this year half of the inspected vendors didn’t comply with laws governing the sale of wreaths, flowers, flower decorations, plastic or ordinary flowers as well as a large assortment of candles. Counterfeits for CZK 2.3 million at SAPA

(Praha, November 16, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority regularly monitors stand sale at Czech marketplaces where counterfeited goods are often offered when labelled with names of famous trademarks. In early November, employees of the Czech Trade inspection Authority carried out an extraordinary inspection action at the SAPA marketplace and collected 493 pieces of products in the value of more than CZK 2.3 million. Goods for more than CZK 1.5 million collected at the marketplace in Vyšší Brod

(České Budějovice, November 15, 2016) Violations of intellectual property rights are usually seen at marketplaces. When selling counterfeits, sellers breach foremost the Act on Consumer Protection. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority discovered fakes in the value of more than CZK 1.5 million within an extraordinary inspection at the marketplace in Vyšší Brod. Summer season 2016

(Final report of 2016) (Prague, November 11, 2016) Each year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitors activities of sellers during the summer touristic season. Inspections aimed at offer and sale of products and provision of services were carried out this summer as well. The CTIA carried out 1,350 inspections within which violations of legal regulations were discovered in 498 cases which represented almost 37%. Inspectors imposed 455 fines amounting to CZK 860,500.The complete press release is available in the attachment.

CTIA inspections in Nový Bydžov

(Hradec Králové, November 10, 2016) In the second half of October, a joint inspection action of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, customs administration office and the Regional Labour Inspectorate was carried out. The subject of the inspection was the retail market and workplaces of public alimentation in the town of Nový Bydžov. At the same time, CTIA employees sampled fuels there. Counterfeits at the marketplace in Hřensko

(Ústí nad Labem, November 9, 2016) Inspections at the marketplace in Hřensko proved violations of intellectual property rights. Inspectors collected 527 pieces of counterfeits in the total value of originals amounting to CZK 349,400. Most of the products were CD and DVD carriers as well as watches. Repeated inspections in Strážné

(České Budějovice, October 31, 2016) Inspectors of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority repeatedly carried out inspections at the marketplace in Strážné where they collected counterfeits in the price of originals reaching to almost CZK 1,000,000. Louis Vuitton was the most counterfeited trademark

(Continuous report for the 2nd quarter of 2016)(Prague, November 4, 2016) In the 2nd quarter of 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority found violations of intellectual property rights in 112 cases which was almost by 10% more than in the first quarter. Inspectors collected in total 9,374 pieces of counterfeits in the value amounting to more than CZK 122 million when calculated in the prices of originals. Claim of a travel package

(Ústí nad Labem, November 3, 2016) A consumer can make a claim of a travel package at both tour operator and travel agent. Both is possible. The inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority based in Liberec responded to such claim from a consumer.
