100 % sellers breached law at Šenovská burza in Ostrava

(Ostrava, April 24, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian Regions in cooperation with the Customs Office of the Moravian-Silesian Region carried out an inspection focused among others on compliance with law on intellectual property rights. Inspections were carried out in 15 workplaces and shortcomings were detected in all cases.

Consumers still discriminated

(Prague, April 20, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continuously monitors whether traders use any form of discrimination against consumers. In 2017, CTIA conducted 721 inspections in this area and found suspicion of any form of this undesirable behaviour in 7 cases. Girls’ swimsuit failed safety requirements

(Praha, April 18, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority detected that in the Czech market a girls’ swimsuit is offered although it fails safety requirements for children’s clothing. There are two models of two-part bikinis “Sonia” and “SI-SI”.

CTIA detected more than 55% violations of law in Ústí nad Orlicí

(Hradec Králové, April 17, 2017) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions together with the Czech Environmental Inspectorate of Hradec Králové carried out a common inspection in Ústí nad Orlicí. Officers focused on retail network and services and carried out 18 inspections in total. Breaches of legal regulations were found at 10 workplaces.

Easter sale with fines for CZK 35,000 in North Moravia

(Ostrava, April 10, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian Regions carried out an Easter inspection focused on sale of product and provision of services related to this holiday. It detected violations of law in 28 of 62 cases. Vendors most frequently breached the Act on Consumer Protection. Fines amounting to CZK 35,000 were imposed for the infringements.

Doll can endanger child’s life

(Prague, April 5, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority detected that a toy is offered to consumers in the Czech market – “Laughing baby“, which can pose health risk to children. CTIA ordered immediate withdrawal of the products from the market.
