(Prague, September 30, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspections of fuels in August and saw all taken samples compliant, same as in July.

(Prague, September 27, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has long-term monitored various forms of discrimination. In the second quarter of 2019, it carried out 139 inspections and detected suspicions of such undesired conduct in two cases.

(Prague, September 25, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority lawfully imposed fines for discriminative conduct in the centre of Prague. At two workplaces, foreigners were charged higher amounts than Czech speaking consumers. In both cases, lawful fines amounting to CZK 60,000 were imposed.

(Prague, September 20, 2019) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 53 inspections aimed at mobile phones. Their assessment showed defects in 15 types, mostly relating to the absence of EU Declaration of Conformity (CE), instructions for use, safety information, identification of trader and other contact details.

(Prague, September 19, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions carried out inspections at the traditional historical event Slavnosti královny Elišky. Inspectors focused on selling alcohol to juveniles. The total of six inspections were carried out and five vendors sold alcoholic beverages to juveniles.

(Prague, September 11, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority kept inspecting the offer and sale of counterfeits in the internal retail market. In the second quarter of 2019 it carried out 403 inspections and saw infringements in 300 cases, of which more than one third were counterfeited goods. Altogether, it secured 22,223 items of counterfeits in the value of originals amounting to more than CZK 34 million.

(Prague, September 6, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continues to inspect the supply and provision of services related to the conclusion of intermediary contracts on energy supplies, often referred to as “energy auctions” by similar sellers or call centre operators. (České Budějovice, September 5, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continuously monitors events that are frequently visited. Specifically, it focuses on the offer and sale at stands where consumers buy goods and refreshments. At this year's Země živitelka exhibition, the CTIA of South Bohemia carried out 15 inspections and found breaches of legal regulations at 11 inspections.

(Prague, September 3, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Central Bohemia Region and of the Capital of Prague carried out an extraordinary inspection and the Vysočany Flea Market. CTIA officers carried out in total 5 inspections aimed at the offer and sale of counterfeited goods. In 4 cases, they detected breaches of the Act on Consumer Protection. They discovered 989 items of counterfeits amounting to CZK 2,531,938 when calculated in the prices of originals.
