More than half of inspected sellers sold alcohol to juveniles

(Hradec Králové, August 26, 2020) The CTIA Inspectorate of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions carried out an extraordinary inspection activity aimed at the prohibition on the sale of alcohol to juveniles during the summer touristic season. It carried out 39 inspections in the Eastern Giant Mountains and found out that in 24 cases, alcoholic beverages were sold to persons under the age of 18.

Inspections of sale of alcohol and tobacco

CTIA saw 3 cases of discrimination in second quarter of 2020

CTIA inspected gas cartridges for camping and lights

(Prague, 19 August 2020) In the area of technical inspection, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on transportable pressure equipment – disposable gas cartridges. These are frequently used refills for portable camping cookers and lights, for example. As part of this action, inspectors inspected 12 product types. In 7 types, they found deficiencies that were formal in nature and didn‘t compromise user safety.

Inspections in south Bohemia showed the sale of alcohol to juveniles

(České Budějovice, 17 August 2020) Based on a consumer submission, the Inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the South Bohemian and Vysočina Regions carried out a special inspection aimed at the sale of alcoholic beverages to juveniles. 3 inspections were carried out involving juvenile figurants in food stores in the Prachatice district. Violations of the prohibition to sell alcoholic beverages to juveniles were found during all three inspections, when flavoured alcoholic beverages were sold to the figurants.

In most cases, battery charger inspections confirmed shortcomings
